One Client Saved Today!
Today, I saved one client from having to give up their dreams! Before I represented them, they had gone to a local lender and had been pre-qualified. When we started looking for homes, I knew about this approval and we looked at homes in the range they were qualified for. We finally found it, and were ready to make an offer! I called the loan officer and requested a formal 'pre-qualified letter' and a copy of the Good Faith Estimate which was to be updated per our intended offer. Oops! The payment was wrong on the original Good Faith on which we had based our house-looking on! I left a message for the loan officer describing the problem, and we never heard from him again. I took my client to another lender (a big bank), and they gave them 3 options, half of the closing costs quoted by the other lender, and now my client has the ability to buy that dream home. Oh, I should also mention that I was a loan officer myself for 11 years, so I know how to check the numbers! I try to stay out of my clients' personal finances, but more often than not, I can help them get a better deal on their mortgage which meets their goals.
